We have studied the existing gamification systems on media services. We identified the features of content consumption on the sites, and also compared the tools that video services use to engage users with similar tools in the gaming industry, media and educational services.
What we found out
The main thing for users of video services is to stay in the stream, that is, not to be distracted from watching the selected movie or TV series. Therefore, adding gamification directly to the entire platform is not worth it, it can be annoying. But building a game system around specific content is quite realistic and can work.
